About the role:

What if your next role wasn't just about maintaining standards, but helping create the products our communities know and love?

At Gadsby's Bakery, quality is at the heart of everything we do. From the ingredients we source to the products that leave our bakery every day, we're committed to delivering food that's safe, compliant and made to the highest standards.

Ready to help shape the future of one of Lincolnshire's best-loved bakeries?

This isn't a typical Technical Manager role.

You'll be the driving force behind our food safety, quality and compliance standards, ensuring every product meets the expectations of our customers, our colleagues and the regulations that protect them.

Working closely with teams across the bakery, you'll help create a culture where quality comes first, using your expertise to support colleagues, improve processes and drive continuous improvement.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead our food safety, quality and compliance standards, ensuring we consistently meet legal, retailer and industry requirements.
  • Work closely with production teams to improve processes, resolve quality issues and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, auditors and regulatory bodies, confidently representing the bakery during audits and inspections.
  • Coach and develop colleagues, giving them the knowledge and confidence to maintain the highest standards every day.

This is a role where you'll spend time both on the bakery floor and working strategically, giving you the opportunity to influence how quality is delivered every single day. If you're passionate about food safety, enjoy solving problems and want to make a genuine impact on a business with a proud heritage, we'd love to hear from you.

About You

You might already be leading technical and quality standards within a food manufacturing business. Or you might be ready to take the next step into a role where you can influence quality across an entire operation.

Either way, you'll be passionate about food safety, committed to high standards and enjoy working with people to make great products even better.

You'll probably recognise yourself in this, if:

  • You've worked in a technical or quality management role within food manufacturing and understand the importance of food safety, compliance and quality.
  • You know how to balance technical standards with the realities of a busy production environment.
  • You're confident leading audits, managing compliance and maintaining quality management systems.
  • You enjoy solving problems, using data and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • You build strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers and external bodies, communicating confidently at every level.
  • You're passionate about developing others and creating a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility.
  • You stay calm under pressure and can confidently prioritise in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

If you have a food-related qualification, HACCP certification or experience working with BRCGS standards, that's great. If not, but you've got the right experience and passion for food quality, we'd still love to hear from you.

Why This Role Matters

Every loaf, cake and bake that leaves Gadsby's Bakery carries our reputation with it.

By leading our technical and quality standards, you'll help ensure our customers receive products they can trust, our colleagues have the confidence to do their best work, and our bakery continues to grow while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.

You'll be shaping:

  • How we deliver safe, high-quality products every day.
  • How quality and compliance become part of everything we do.
  • How we continuously improve for our customers, colleagues and communities.

What You'll Get in Return

Alongside the opportunity to make a real impact in one of Lincolnshire's most established bakeries, you'll receive:

  • Up to 30 days annual leave (pro-rata, including bank holidays)
  • Pension scheme (with up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Generous colleague discount rates across our family of businesses
  • Annual discretionary colleague bonuses to reward you for your hard work
  • Wellbeing initiatives and community engagement opportunities
 A Final Thought...

Technical excellence is about much more than meeting standards.

It's about building confidence, supporting colleagues and ensuring every product leaving our bakery is one we're proud to put our name to.

If that sounds like the kind of impact you'd like to make, we'd love to hear from you.
