About the role:

At our Support Services, we’re dedicated to helping colleagues across the business with advice and guidance whenever it’s needed. Our busy and reliable Payroll Team are a key part of this, working together to provide comprehensive payroll service to colleagues across the Society.

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team at our Support Centre in Lincoln. This is a chance to play a key role in managing the full payroll process across multiple systems, working alongside a supportive and collaborative team.

In this roll, you'll be responsible for:

  • Processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. 
  • Validating payroll reports, correcting errors, and issuing statutory payments/forms. 
  • Supporting starters, leavers, holiday pay, and additional payments. 
  • Verifying payroll-related bank details and processing deductions. 
  • Assisting with pension processing and auto-enrolment. 
  • Resolving payroll queries and handling manual payments. 
  • Supporting data analysis, reporting, and quality checks. 
  • Distributing payslips, maintaining records, and preparing third-party payments. 
  • Suggesting process improvements and ensuring GDPR compliance. 
  • Collaborating with teams and staying updated on payroll regulations.

About You

We’re looking for an honest, reliable, and motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills. If you have at least 2 years’ experience working within a fast-paced payroll environment, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll need to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments, and payroll regulations. 
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and ideally experience of iTrent software.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, with excellent numeracy and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines. 
  • Knowledge of GDPR, data protection, and compliance with payroll legislation.
