About the role:

At Lincolnshire Co-op, we look to bring together ideas, energy and resources to make life better in our communities. Our Health, Safety and Security team contribute to this by working across our trading area, ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our colleagues and customers.

We’re looking for a proactive and confident Health, Safety and Security (HSS) Business Partner to join our team and help us deliver safe, secure, and compliant operations across Lincolnshire Co-op. This senior-level role partners directly with business areas, offering expert advice on health, safety, welfare, security, and food safety matters, while supporting our commitment to legal compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement.

You’ll take the lead on complex HSS cases and projects, mentor our team of Advisors, and support our managers and colleagues with training, investigations, and risk management tools. You’ll influence policy, support change, and drive engagement by embedding ownership of HSS standards at every level. From leading audits and risk assessments to representing us at forums and acting as deputy to the Head of HSS, this is a visible and impactful role that touches every part of our diverse organisation.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring deep expertise in either health and safety or security, along with the confidence and communication skills to coach, influence and support at all levels.

You will also have:

  • A recognised qualification in Health & Safety (e.g. NEBOSH Certificate), with a diploma-level qualification preferred, and/or a recognised qualification in Security (e.g. Security Institute Advanced Certificate).

  • A strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and the ability to apply it practically in a fast-paced retail or operational environment.

  • Experience advising at a tactical level in HSS roles, ideally within a multi-site or complex setting.

  • Excellent communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.

  • A solution-focused approach to problem-solving and risk mitigation.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities with strong time management and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Office 365 and confidence handling data and reports.

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
