As a Funeral Director, you'll be at the heart of that journey. You'll lead funeral arrangements from start to finish, supporting families with empathy while ensuring every service is delivered with dignity, respect and the highest professional standards. Alongside caring for clients, you'll inspire colleagues, oversee funeral services and help maintain the exceptional reputation of our Funeral Services across the communities we serve.

Leading with compassion every single day

No two families are the same, and no two days are either.

One day you could be meeting with a family to plan a deeply personal farewell. The next, you'll be leading a funeral service, coordinating with celebrants and crematoria, supporting your team, or ensuring every legal and operational detail has been completed to the highest standard.

This is a role that combines compassionate client care with confident leadership. You'll balance emotional support with organisation, decision-making and attention to detail, ensuring every funeral is delivered seamlessly while helping colleagues perform at their very best.

As a Funeral Director, you'll:

• Guide families through every stage of arranging a funeral, providing expert advice, reassurance and compassionate support.
• Lead funeral services with professionalism and dignity, ensuring every detail reflects the wishes of the family.
• Inspire and support Funeral Operatives and colleagues, providing leadership before, during and after every service.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external organisations to deliver seamless, personalised funeral arrangements.
• Ensure legal, regulatory and operational standards are consistently met while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Build trusted relationships within your local community while helping families create meaningful and memorable farewells.

INDMP

This role is ideal for an experienced Funeral Director or Funeral Arranger who's passionate about supporting families with compassion, professionalism and care.

You'll bring previous experience within the funeral profession and be confident guiding families through every stage of the funeral journey. Whether you're arranging a personalised farewell, leading a funeral service or supporting colleagues, you'll understand the importance of balancing empathy with exceptional attention to detail.

A nationally recognised qualification in Funeral Directing would be a fantastic bonus, but it's not essential. What matters most is your experience, your values and your commitment to delivering outstanding care.

The experience and qualities you'll bring:

• Have a strong understanding of the funeral process and can confidently support families through every stage with compassion and professionalism.
• Take pride in delivering exceptional customer service, building trusted relationships and helping families feel supported from beginning to end.
• Lead by example, communicating with warmth, integrity and respect while supporting colleagues and maintaining high professional standards.
• Are highly organised, with excellent administration, IT and attention to detail, ensuring every arrangement is delivered accurately and seamlessly.
• Are comfortable working with the deceased and understand the importance of providing dignified, reverent care at every stage of the funeral journey.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, as you'll regularly travel across our trading area.

As part of this role, you'll also introduce families to our funeral plans where appropriate. As this is an FCA-regulated activity, successful candidates will complete our vetting process, including identity verification, criminal background, reference and credit checks, which are carried out by our partner organisation, Ecclesiastical.
