  • About the role:

  •  More than a food store – we're part of your community

What if your next role could be about more than serving customers?

What if every shift gave you the chance to brighten someone’s day, make a real difference in your local community and be part of something people genuinely rely on?

Here, you’re not just serving customers; you’re helping to create great experiences, support your community and make a difference every day.

At Lincolnshire Co-op, our Food Stores are at the heart of communities across Lincolnshire and the surrounding counties. From picking up everyday essentials to discovering local produce, our customers count on us for convenience, quality and a warm welcome. As a Customer Services Assistant, you'll be one of the friendly faces that makes that happen.

A role where every day is different

No two days are ever the same in our Food Stores, one moment you'll be helping a customer find the perfect product, the next you'll be replenishing shelves, promotional displays or keeping the store looking its very best.

Whether someone is doing their weekly shop, grabbing a lunchtime treat or simply stopping by for a quick chat, you'll help create a positive experience that keeps customers coming back. You'll become a trusted member of the team and a familiar face within the local community.

    What you'll be doing

As a Customer Services Assistant, you'll:

    • Looking after our customers with friendly, knowledgeable and efficient service, answering questions and responding positively to feedback and requests.
    • Keeping the store running smoothly by operating checkouts and payment systems, replenishing and rotating stock and keeping displays and store standards looking their best.
    • Supporting our in-store services, including bakery and food-to-go areas where required.
    • Being part of the team and our community by working closely with colleagues, championing our Society values and supporting membership and community initiatives.

    Why you'll love it

This is a role that's perfect for people who enjoy variety, love helping others and take pride in delivering excellent service. You'll be supported every step of the way with training, development opportunities and a team that genuinely cares about making a difference.

Because at Lincolnshire Co-op, we're not just serving customers, we're helping make life better in our communities.

  • About You

  • The friendly face our customers remember

You don't need retail experience or to know every product on the shelf from day one. What matters most is your enthusiasm, your willingness to learn and your passion for helping people.

We're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, loves interacting with customers and takes pride in creating a great experience every time someone walks through our doors.

You'll fit right in if you...

    • Enjoy helping people and making them feel welcome
    • Communicate confidently and build positive relationships
    • Have a positive attitude and enjoy working as part of a team
    • Can stay organised, adaptable and focused in a busy environment
    • Are keen to learn new skills and get involved in different areas of the store

    The difference you'll make

Our Food Stores are more than places to shop. They're places where communities connect, local relationships grow and great service makes a real difference.

As a Customer Services Assistant, you'll help create:

    • Friendly, memorable experiences for every customer
    • A welcoming, well-presented and well-stocked store
    • Strong relationships with customers, members and colleagues
    • Positive contributions to the local communities we serve every day

Most importantly, you'll play a part in our purpose of bringing together energy, ideas and resources to make life better in our communities.

    What's in it for you?

Alongside the opportunity to work for a business that genuinely puts people and communities first, you'll enjoy:

    • Up to 30 days annual leave (pro rata), including bank holidays
    • A pension scheme with up to 12% employer contributions
    • Generous colleague discounts across our family of businesses
    • Annual discretionary colleague bonuses to reward you for your hard work
    • Learning, development and wellbeing support
    • Opportunities to get involved in community initiatives

We're proud to be an Investors in People Platinum employer, committed to helping colleagues grow, develop and thrive in their careers.

    Ready to join us?

Whether you're helping a customer find today's essentials, serving fresh bakery products or sharing a smile at the checkout, you'll be making a difference in your community every single day.

If you're looking for a role where people, teamwork and community matter, we'd love to hear from you.
